Fundraising & Events
No-Fuss Fundraiser Results

We did it! We smashed our goal for the No-Fuss Fundraiser and raised a total of $16,780! 🙌 Thanks to your incredible generosity, enthusiasm, and school spirit, our students will be treated to an action-packed BMX Assembly that’s sure to be unforgettable.

Sending another huge THANK YOU to all our donors — your support made this happen. You’ve helped kick off the school year with joy, momentum, and a whole lot of heart.

Join Us at Skate Night
Skate Night

Our first Skate Night is this week on Thursday, September 25, 4:30-6:30 p.m.! Pre-order your tickets at least 24 hours in advance here

Admission is just $5 per person (even if you’re not skating), plus $5 per skate rental if needed. This is a great chance for new and veteran families to connect and be part of the DES community.

Fall Family Fun Night: October 24

Save the date for a night of fun to help us get in the Halloween Spirit. We will have games, crafts, and food, followed by a Halloween movie! Details are being finalized and will be provided soon.

WE NEED SOME HELP! The more volunteers we have, the more fun activities we can have! If you would like to be involved in making the first family social event of the year great, please email asttreasurer.pto.des@gmail.com.

Dining Out With Squisito

Let's raise some dough for DES! This year's first Dining Out will be held at Squisito Pizza & Pasta (Riva Road location) on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 4-9 p.m. 15% of proceeds will be donated to the PTO (includes dine-in and takeout)!

Gator Gear Selling Fast

Don't miss your chance to get this year's Gator Gear designs! Inventory is running low, and once it's gone, it's gone! Order yours today.

Clubs

The Martial Arts Club has limited space available (6 seats). The Fall Session will be held after school on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. beginning on October 8, 2025. Register now.

Financial assistance is available for all clubs. Please reach out to Jaime Superczysnki for more information.

Teachers Elves

Help is needed every day of the week, so make sure you toggle between the different tabs to find days that work with your schedule! Reach out to Laura with any questions!

Media Center Volunteers

From the Desks of AACPS
Welcome to Canvas

Canvas is now the official Learning Management System (LMS) for all AACPS students and staff! It's the central hub for you to see student assignments, class/course updates, and your students’ grades throughout the school year.

You can access Canvas in two easy ways:

  1. Web: Go to AACPSConnect and click on the Canvas LMS icon to launch.
  2. Mobile App: Go to AACPSConnect on a web browser and sign in to sync your account. Then download both the ClassLink Launchpad and Canvas Parent mobile apps, but don’t sign in yet. Next, open the ClassLink Launchpad mobile app and sign in with your AACPSConnect username and password (yes, just one more time, please). Inside ClassLink, click on the Canvas icon to launch the Canvas Parent mobile app. After this initial set-up, you will be able to access Canvas directly through the mobile app.

For more information and resources on accessing AACPS Connect and Canvas, go to aacps.org/lms.
