Information From Your PTO

As we begin thinking about next school year, the DES PTO will have open Board positions for the 2026–2027 school year. Our PTO plays a big role in bringing fun events, meaningful programs, and extra support to our students, teachers, and school community—and we're always excited to welcome new ideas and new faces!

If you're interested in joining the DES PTO Board or would like to learn more about the different roles, please email current PTO president, Amy Forney. We'd be happy to answer your questions and help you find a position that's the right fit.

If you've ever thought about getting more involved, this is a great opportunity. Come help us continue building the amazing Gator community we all love! 🐊

Volunteer Spotlight
Hoops for Learning

A huge THANK YOU to the nearly 40 incredible volunteers who made our Hoops for Learning event such a success! From tracking baskets and keeping the event running smoothly to cheering on every student, their energy and support helped create a fun, organized, and memorable experience for all.

Our gym was filled with excitement, encouragement, and school spirit from start to finish. This event truly showcased the strength of our DES community and what we can accomplish together.

We are so grateful for their time, enthusiasm, and dedication — thank you for showing up in such a big way for our students! 🐊💚

From the Community
💙 Support #JoeyStrong Night 💙

Our community has an opportunity to come together in support of a local 10-year-old boy, Joey, who is currently battling bone cancer. The South River High School lacrosse team is having a "Joey night" that is also youth night with DAA.

We invite our DES Gator community to show their support by purchasing a #JoeyStrong t-shirt and attending the game. Let's fill the stands and remind Joey and his family that they are not alone.

T-shirt pickup options:

  • April 10 at South River High School at 5:30 PM
  • April 13 at Adams Ribs from 5–7 PM
  • Or the night of the event

👉 Purchase your shirt here: https://bit.ly/JoeyStrongT

Thank you for helping us rally around Joey with strength, love, and community spirit. 💙
