Information From Your PTO

As we begin thinking about next school year, the DES PTO will have open Board positions for the 2026–2027 school year. Our PTO plays a big role in bringing fun events, meaningful programs, and extra support to our students, teachers, and school community—and we're always excited to welcome new ideas and new faces!

If you're interested in joining the DES PTO Board or would like to learn more about the different roles, please email current PTO president, Amy Forney. We'd be happy to answer your questions and help you find a position that's the right fit.

If you've ever thought about getting more involved, this is a great opportunity. Come help us continue building the amazing Gator community we all love! 🐊

Fundraising
Hoops for Learning: Results Are In!

Thanks to our incredible DES community, we’re excited to share that Hoops for Learning has raised $14,446.22 (and counting!)

Because of your generosity and enthusiasm, we’ve already surpassed our school-wide goal — which means we’ve earned and installed the Gaga Ball pit for our students! This fun new addition brings energy and excitement to recess for years to come.

A huge thank you to all of our students, families, and volunteers who made this fundraiser possible — and a special shoutout to Anthony Rosato and David Kosla, who built the Gaga Ball pit at the school.

Please note: These are not final totals. Once we wrap up the fundraiser, we’ll announce our limo ride winners, class winners, and grade-level champions — stay tuned! If you have an outstanding invoice, there’s still time to submit your payment and be included in our final totals.

Thank you for helping us make a big impact — one basket at a time!

From the Community
💙 Support #JoeyStrong Night 💙

Our community has an opportunity to come together in support of a local 10-year-old boy, Joey, who is currently battling bone cancer. The South River High School lacrosse team is hosting "Joey night".  We invite our DES Gator community to show their support by purchasing a #JoeyStrong t-shirt and attending the game. Let's fill the stands and remind Joey and his family that they are not alone.  Click on the flier for more information.

T-shirt pickup options:

  • April 13th at Adams Ribs from 5:00–7:00 PM
  • Or the night of the event

👉 Purchase your shirt here: https://bit.ly/JoeyStrongT

Thanks for helping us rally around Joey with strength, love and community spirit. 💙

DAA Spring Gator Day

DAA is excited to announce that they will be having a Spring Gator Day on Friday, May 1st from 5:00-8:00 PM at Davidsonville Park! More info here.

This event is free to attend and there is already lots of fun planned!

The park concession stand will be open and Go Melvo Sno-balls will be on site!

The DAA and Gator Day goals are to bring together our athletes and families in a celebration of what it means to be a Gator.  We hope to see you all there!
